Flashlight Tool 1: Guesses Your brain is constantly making guesses on whether the future is good or bad, even when there is not enough evidence. When you feel unnecessarily pessimistic, this can damage your motivation to continue on your diet. When you feel unnecessarily optimistic, this can make you avoid the changes you need to make. Your brain’s flashlight often needs to be brought back to the moment, where you can still feel good without feeling unnecessarily optimistic.
